For such an easy recipe, you get such a great result! It’s a really impressive thing to make for friends. I have seen lots of recipes featuring lard, and I figured that it must be easy to replace that with oil, making these tortillas vegan.
2tbsp oil – I used olive because that’s what I had, you could use any vegetable oil
Pinch of salt
Put flour and the salt in a bowl, add in the oil and begin to slowly add water a teaspoon at a time. Combine all the ingredients together until you get a dough.
Break off golf ball sized pieces and roll out on a floured surface until they look tortilla-shaped.
Heat a pan on high until it is very very very hot. Slap a tortilla down in the pan. It will cook on one side, and begin to bubble up slightly. After 45 seconds, flip it over and repeat until both sides are done.
And taa-daa! Delicious tortillas, easy to make.
